The hit Venezuelan movie Simón is finally coming to Netflix in the U.S. next month!

This powerful drama about a freedom fighter named Simón won many awards last year when it hit film festivals. Critics were raving about how well it shows the heavy effects dissidents face when fighting oppressive regimes.

In the movie, Simón gets exiled to Miami and has to decide if he should start over there or risk it all by going back to Venezuela to battle the tyrannical government.

Simón was directed by up-and-comer Diego Vicentini and is actually an expanded version of a short film he made a few years ago.

When it premieres on Netflix on June 1st, you’ll finally get to see what all the buzz was about.

If you want to learn more about the movie, check out Simón: The Weight of Guilt in the Fight for Venezuela. It has all the details on how they made the film, the cinematography, the deal with Venezuela, and more!
