In a recent interview with The UIUC Talkshow, Stephen Wolfram mentions an interesting conversation that he had with his son and Elon Musk. The conversation apparently took place at a dinner, and during it, Musk revealed that his reason for going to college was to pick up girls.

But Wolfram does not think that is the whole picture. He then goes on to reflect on the idea of college being a place to meet potential partners, and notes that it is not something that worked out for him personally. He met his wife long after he finished college. He also points out that colleges, like companies, tend to attract certain types of people, and that this could be a factor in people finding partners there.

Wolfram also talks about staying in touch with people over long periods of time, and how it can be difficult for some people to maintain those connections. He notes that he has been fortunate to have met many interesting people in his life, and that he has been able to stay in touch with many of them. He also mentions that he recently organized a virtual reunion for his elementary school class, which was a way for him to reconnect with people he hadn’t seen in 50 years. Wolfram concludes that staying in touch with people over time can be beneficial and that it has been a positive aspect of his life.
